The Manor House is one of the oldest buildings in Ilkley with the entrance and cross passage dating back to the 14th century. It stands on the remains of an old Roman Fort called Olicana, which was abandoned in the late 4th century A.D. The site of the Manor House became the focus of Medieval Ilkley and with it’s closeness to the Parish Church, it may have been the main administrative centre for the Manor.
