The Cock & Bottle - Bradford

The Cock & Bottle, Bradford

The Cock & Bottle is the oldest pub in Bradford and dates back to 1747 when an inn was licensed on or near the site of the present building. A complete rebuild of the property took place c1820 and the name Cock & Bottle was first recorded in a trade directory of 1822. Sir Thomas Fairfax's wife is said to have been captured by Royalist forces in 1643 on the spot where the Cock & Bottle now stands.
